About Pickles
We think Pickles is now ready to find his forever person! Pickles had a rough start in life and as a result when he came to his carer he was scared of everything and everyone.
With each day and lots of patience and treats Pickles personality began to shine through and he learnt to trust. He is a cheeky boy who will take your shoes if you dare leave them unattended but has never chewed them. Loves feeding time where he bounces all four legs in the air while waiting. He loves an adventure and then is happy to be a couch potato for the rest of the day.
Pickles takes his time to warm to you and learn to trust, and can still be timid. Once he trusts he just wants to be in your orbit and see what you’re doing.
Pickles is a special boy who needs a special home that can give him time and patience to settle and trust.
Pickles seems to be more comfortable outside in a secure yard but his carers are teaching him that he can be a spoilt inside dog too and he is coming around quickly.
Due his initial fear and remaining timidity, obedience training has been on the back burner but his temperament and gentle nature means this hasn’t been a big deal.
Pickles loves a car ride or a walk and mostly does well. When he encounters things that scare him he has what his carers have affectionately called “hissy fits” and then can velcro himself to the ground. With encouragement he always overcomes everything and improves each time.
Pickles currently lives with a cat where he is curious and not bothered by the cat. He currently sleeps outside at night and has inside time during the day with his carers.
Pickles would be best suited to a home with no, or older children due to needing to be around people that understand his uncertainty and can offer him patience.
