About Scarlet - 4 Year Old Bullmastiff
Scarlet the 4 year old Bullmastiff is the cuddly goofball you’ve been looking for.
With her snowy and stunning eyes she will turn heads wherever she goes. Her foster carer absolutely adores her and admits she’ll be sad when Scarlet finds her forever family.
Scarlet is a sweet, gentle soul who lives for snuggles and human company she’s happiest when she’s curling up as close as possible to her people.
Scarlet can get a bit anxious when her foster carer leaves, so she’ll suit a home where she’s not left alone for long hours every day. A work-from-home dog mum or dad Or someone home part-time / with a flexible routine would suit her best.
Scarlet is a relaxed companion she is happy with a 30-minute walk and some pottering around the yard, then she’s ready to snooze (often right on the bed if you let her).
Scarlet is very much an indoor dog and already has lovely manners, she is completely toilet trained with access to a doggy door. She likes to sleep close to her people and knows “sit” and is learning drop. Scarlet is currently working on “paws down”, as she can jump up a little when excited.
She walks quite well on lead and doesn’t pull a lot, but she’ll benefit from more practice, consistency and someone with the patience and understanding to help her blossom into the beautiful, well-mannered companion she’s meant to be.
Scarlet has been tested with cats and is okay with them. She hasn’t been living with other dogs in foster care but she is not overly reactive when dogs bark at her on walks. She may be suitable to live with a calm, similar-sized resident dog with careful introduction. She hasn’t been tested with children under 16. Any introductions should be slow, gentle and supervised. Because she can jump up when excited, she’s best suited to a home with older children she can’t accidentally knock over.
30 minutes of walking a day seems to enrich Scarlet, she loves a snifari and doesn’t want to be rushed. She is perfect for someone wanting a chilled out companion rather than a marathon partner.
Scarlet is a total water baby. She loves putting her paws in the water bucket and would be over the moon with a little clam shell or paddle pool to splash about in.
🏡 Scarlet’s Ideal Home will
• Welcome her indoors as part of the family and include her in everyday life and adventures
• Have someone home more often than not (WFH, part-time workers, retirees, etc.)
• Provide a secure yard, ideally with a dog door so she can wander in and out as she pleases
• Be committed to ongoing positive training and helping build her confidence with the world and other dogs
• Appreciate a sensitive, people-oriented Bullmastiff girl who wants to be your loyal shadow and best friend
