If you’re after a loyal companion who’ll always be by your side, meet Lena — a beautiful Border Collie x Kelpie, around 3½ years old, with a fluffy medium coat and a gentle soul.

Lena’s number-one goal in life is to be close to her person. Whether it’s cuddling on the couch, curling up in bed (if she’s allowed), or soaking up endless belly and head scratches — she’s in her happy place when she’s near you. Give her a good rub and she’ll be fast asleep in seconds.

Clean and tidy by nature, Lena always keeps herself looking her best and hardly sheds despite her soft, fluffy coat.

In foster care, Lena has been thriving with another dog and absolutely loves having a canine friend to play with. She’d do best with a gentle, confident dog who can show her the ropes and remind her that the world isn’t such a scary place. She’s also a sucker for squeaky toys and loves carrying a soft plushy around in her mouth — it’s her comfort thing!

When it comes to walks, Lena is calm on lead (you could almost hold her with one finger!) and enjoys getting out to explore, though she’s still learning that it’s okay to stop and smell the roses. She can be a little intimidated by strangers and will bark when nervous, so she needs someone patient who can take introductions slowly and help her build confidence over time.

Lena would suit an active person who enjoys peaceful walks or hikes, but who also appreciates a cuddle buddy at home. She’s not a fussy eater, is desexed, vaccinated, and always grateful for every bit of love and care she receives. Show her kindness and she’ll repay you with endless loyalty and affection.
