About Ruby
Meet Ruby, a gorgeous white American Bulldog girl, about 1 year and 9 months old. Ruby is a beautiful young adult who has a lot of love to give and is ready to trade her shelter life for a devoted forever home.
Ruby has a heart of gold and is an absolute scratch magnet-she melts the moment she gets attention and loves to lean in for a cuddle. She is a sturdy, loyal girl who is eager to bond deeply and become a devoted member of your family.
As a young American Bulldog, Ruby is full of potential, but she is also untrained and will need guidance in her new environment. She needs an adopter who is ready for the commitment of teaching a strong, enthusiastic dog all her household manners, leash skills, and basic obedience.
Ruby is looking for a structured, patient, and loving home:
Dedicated Trainer: She needs an owner with time and experience to commit to her training and continue her positive development.
Solo Star: Ruby must be the only dog in the household. She needs to focus all her love and attention on her human family.
Consistency is Key: An adopter who can provide structure, routine, and positive reinforcement to help her feel secure and succeed.
Love and Scratches: Plenty of cuddles and ear scratches are mandatory!
If you are prepared to invest in Ruby's training, you will gain a deeply loyal, affectionate, and protective companion who will enrich your life every single day.
Come meet this beautiful girl and start your adventure together!
To book a meet and greet with Ruby please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au .
Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
