About Grimsby
Meet Grimsby 💚
10 years 11 months | Neutered male | Senior • Tripod • Certified good boy
Grimsby has three legs.
And honestly? He’s doing just fine!
Grimsby was surrendered to rangers due to his owner’s ill-health and frequent trips to Melbourne for medical care. It was a genuine, heartbreaking situation for all involved, but what matters now is making sure this wonderful old gentleman lands softly in his next chapter.
Despite being nearly 11 and missing a front leg, Grimsby has coped with shelter life far better than we ever expected. In fact, he’s taken it in his stride — sometimes literally. He still gets the zoomies, enjoys a run around our big sales room, and has even been known to make a cheeky leap for freedom from his enclosure.
He is currently on a light-weight diet (important for any tripod cat), and he’s doing well. With sensible weight management and a home without too many stairs or obstacles, Grimsby is more than capable of getting around and enjoying life.
What truly sets Grimsby apart is his nature.
He is kind, gentle, and deeply social. We regularly use him as a role-model cat for others who are unsure of humans or new environments. Male, female, young cats, older cats — Grimsby has helped them all feel safer and more relaxed. He would be happiest in a home where people are around often and where he can share his life with one or more friendly animal companions.
Lately, Grimsby has seemed a little down, and we suspect he’s missing what he had before: his own people, his own routine, and a place that feels like home. We can’t give him back his previous humans — but we can help him find wonderful new ones.
Grimsby’s ideal home:
Indoor-only
Stair-free / low-obstacle environment
Commitment to continuing his light-weight diet
Would love a home with other friendly animals
People who are around often and enjoy gentle companionship
Medical notes:
Overweight — currently on a weight management diet
Mild dental disease — would benefit from a dental clean and polish
Grimsby may be a senior and a tripod, but he is first and foremost a loving, social, resilient cat with so much affection left to give.
If you’re looking for a genuinely special companion — one who proves every day that three legs can still carry a very big heart — Grimsby is waiting for you.
Medical notes
Overweight, currently on a lightweight diet as too heavy for 3-legged cat. Has mild dental disease-would benefit from clean and polish.
