About George
George is just one year old, but life so far hasn't been easy. He came from a large outdoor colony, where people were distant figures and every day was about survival. Because he's never known the safety of a home, George is understandably cautious, he flinches at first touch and prefers to keep a bit of space between himself and the world. But under that timid exterior is a cat who wants to trust. Given time, patience, and kindness, George slowly begins to relax, showing glimpses of the affectionate boy he's meant to be.
George is part of our Rescue or Rehome Program, where our dedicated team works intensively with cats like him under the guidance of feline behaviour experts. This special program helps shy and undersocialised cats learn that people can be safe and loving. Thanks to this care, George has already taken his first brave steps and now, he's ready to continue that journey in a forever home.
Adopting George means more than welcoming a cat; it means giving hope to one of the most forgotten souls. It's choosing compassion, patience, and the chance to truly save a life. Watching a cat like George learn to trust and love is one of the most rewarding experiences imaginable - and he's just waiting for someone who believes in him.
George is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to George - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
