Meet Cornelia — “Corn Chip” to her friends — a five-year-old sweetheart with a heart full of love!

Hi! I’m Cornelia, though everyone here calls me Corn Chip. I’m an affectionate, goofy girl with a serious addiction to pats and attention. My signature move? Gently burying my head into your chest or lap to secure maximum cuddle time. Works every single time.

I’m a happy, playful lady who likes to keep busy, and I’m excellent at entertaining myself with toys. At mealtimes I’m not the biggest eater, but I do much better when I have a “dinner date” sitting outside my kennel — I just enjoy the company! I’m very motivated by time with people, games, and toys, and once you get to know me you’ll find a sweet little cheeky streak underneath it all.

When I explore a new environment, I like to check everything out first — curiosity is kind of my thing. Once I feel comfortable, my goofy side comes out in full force, but I also settle beautifully and happily rotate between my beds and the floor for naps. I can whimper a tiny bit when I see people or dogs outside the window, but it’s never excessive and it doesn’t last long. Overall, I’m a sweet, funny, endlessly entertaining girl.

I’m generally happy meeting other dogs when it’s done slowly and calmly, but because I’m still learning how to be a pet, I’d do best as the only dog in the home for now. I’d also be just fine living with kind, respectful kids aged 5+, especially those who understand I’ll need space and quiet while I settle into family life.

And here’s a fun fact: I’m a total water baby! I adore splashing in the little pools around the rescue centre whenever I get the chance. I’m basically the opposite of a Gremlin — when I get wet, I become even more adorable… if that’s even possible.

All hounds are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm (including heartworm) treated. The adoption fee includes our Adopter Kit containing a martingale collar, leash, muzzle and useful information to help you get your new hound settled in.
