About Murtle
🌸 Meet Murtle - Our Gorgeous Tortoiseshell Sweetheart! 🌸
Say hello to Murtle, an 18-month-old tortoiseshell beauty with a heart as soft as her fur. Murtle is a gentle soul who loves a good chin scratch, a sunny windowsill, and the company of people who understand that the best friendships take a little time to bloom.
She would be happiest in a home with older children who can give her the space and patience she needs to settle in. Once she feels safe, her playful, affectionate side shines through - and you'll be rewarded with purrs, head bumps, and maybe even a few adorable zoomies!
Murtle will need a calm first week or so to get used to her new surroundings (she's a little shy at first), but with a cozy spot to nap and gentle reassurance, she'll soon be padding around like she's always been part of the family.
If you're looking for a sweet, slightly shy companion who will blossom into a loyal little friend, Murtle might just be the purrfect match. 💕
To book a meet and greet with Murtle please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
