About Olive
Meet Olive - our sweet-and-salty senior sweetheart.
Olive came in to The Lost Dogs' Home with deep lacerations on her tongue and her body. She spent a long time going through recovery in a wonderful foster home but the injuries have left her with her tongue sticking out permanently (hence the silly photos).
In her foster home, Maple was the definition of love with boundaries. She loved to rub against your legs and demand attention in her own charming way, purring and leaning into every touch. But when she'd had enough? She'd let you know in a heartbeat- nothing dramatic, just her polite way of saying, "That'll do, human." This senior lady knows what she wants, and what she wants is peace, quiet, and a kindred soul who enjoys gentle pats and who respects her moods and loves her anyway.
Unfortunately, Olive is finding shelter life really hard. The noise, the bustle, and the constant change have left her feeling overwhelmed and unsure. She's needing for her forever home, her peaceful retreat.
Being an older gal she's got a few health conditions, but she's got even more attitude. One minute she's purring in your lap like a tiny motorboat, and the next, she's letting you know your petting quota has been exceeded. Her threshold for nonsense? Dangerously low. Her charm level? Off the charts.
What Olive really needs now is someone patient, gentle, and understanding- someone who sees beyond her grumpy moments and recognizes the affectionate heart underneath. She's not everyone's cup of tea (more like a strong black coffee with no sugar) but for the right person, she's perfection. Because once Olive decides you're hers, she'll love you in her own slightly grumpy way.
Olive is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Olive- or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
