Hi my name is Rufus and people tell me I am a lovely, smart little Groodle. I don’t know too much about that but I am excited by life and love company. I am looking for my perfect home.
I thoroughly enjoy good walks, a good sniff and getting in the occasional zoomie. I also have endless amounts of fun when playing with my toys.
I’m a good boy in the house, fully toilet trained and have polite manners like staying on my bed when asked and sleeping through the night. Although if you love company on the couch then I’m ready to accompany you. I do love a car journey and sometimes try and sneak onto laps. I would really like to find the perfect special understanding people to care for me as I get older, because I’ve got a little issue. I say little because it doesn’t make much difference to me at the moment, but I should let you know I have something called hip dysplasia. My vets know all about it and they say I need to stay fit, trim and healthy and not do silly things but silly just isn’t my thing, I’m too smart for that. I eat healthy and stay fit so I need a family completely committed to helping me stay that way. I also need regular injections to help me stay at my best.
I’m really well behaved for the groomers who I visit regularly to keep me trimmed neatly because I need a tidy coat to go on lots of adventures.
I do find it hard to sit still, preferring to play with toys or go for walks, but after a busy day, when I feel safe I love laying on my bed or cheekily sneaking a spot on the sofa.
I can be a little choosy about making furry friends, and sometimes I’ll bark at other dogs, but others I just ignore, I quite like small girl dogs but bigger dogs scare me a bit, I just don’t know how I’ll feel at the time. So I would prefer a confident person taking me for walks so they can help me know everything is ok. I love being off the lead in safe places and I’m excellent at checking in with you when I’m called. As you can see, I’m not really a sedentary lap dog, I prefer to use my brain and have things to do. If you know dogs and like doing outdoorsy things, I’d love to meet you!
Love, Rufus
* Please note: Rufus has a poodle coat and requires professional grooming every 6-8 weeks, adopters must commit to and be able to afford this ongoing care. Also Rufus will need ongoing vet maintenance for his hips.
