My name is Asher and this is my story …….

For those about to read ahead I would ask that you do so with empathy. All of us are different and we each deal with life events in our own way.

I came into rescue off the euthanasia list from a rural pound. Petrified would be the word I would use as to how I felt. Everything was soooo scary and even though I went to my foster home I still didn’t feel safe. I hid in a draw to make myself invisible. My foster mum’s heart broke for me.

Now they say that time heals all wounds, but I think it’s trust that does. Trust that you won’t hurt me, trust that you will never abandon me, trust that you will love me forever, and trust that you will allow me to be given time to build trust in you.

You may have noticed that I have mentioned dribbles. Well I did mention that word trust didn’t I ? Dribbles and trust go hand in hand, or should I say paw in paw. I have been able to build trust in my foster home and I soooo now enjoy a soft gentle pats that I go into a heavenly place and I dribble when I get them. I actually fell off the window sill once because my head was in raptures because I was getting under the chin scratches.

I do know how to love and accept love, I just have to have someone that has empathy for my situation. A simple word empathy, but it means the whole world to cats like me.

So are you an understanding person? Are you the right person for me? If you are I will reward you with a lifetime of devotion, companionship, and dare I say it dribbles.
