Jack

Jack might be a senior on paper and part of our Silver Whiskers Program, but don’t let that fool you, this boy has plenty of spark left in him! He is one of those dogs who manages to be both laid-back and full of character at the same time. A certified “chill bill” with a cheeky streak, Jack fills the home with gentle humour, chatty conversations, and just the right amount of goof.

Jack loves his food, loves to play, and especially loves having a dog friend around. He thrives with a playful companion who enjoys rough-and-tumble games and backyard zoomies. He’s not a fan of spending long days alone — he’s very much a “life is better together” type of soul.

Despite his size, Jack is a soft-hearted gentleman. He’s social, friendly with other dogs, and great with kids who are dog-savvy simply due to his size. He’s smart, a little bit bossy in a funny way, and an easy dog to have around once you understand his rhythm.

He’ll sleep pretty much anywhere you ask him to, though he’s more than content to curl up in his own bed when guided. He enjoys two hearty meals a day and is always enthusiastic when food is involved. When settling into a new environment, he may briefly mark, but once he knows the space is safe and familiar, he does the right thing and respects his surroundings. He understands basic obedience, is well socialised, and while he’s “kind of” crate trained, he’s easily contained in a bathroom or safe space when needed.

At the core of it all, Jack is just a genuinely good boy — the kind of dog who fills a home with warmth, humour, companionship, and a soft steady love. He asks for very little, just a dog friend to play with, some company through the day, and a family who will enjoy him for the big-hearted character he is.
