About Fern
FOSTER TO ADOPT
Fern is a super chilled out girl but doesn’t like to sit still for her photo to be taken (so trust us, she is even more adorable in person).
This lovely girl is going to make a great companion, and we are sure the first person to meet her will fall in love.
Fern is so gentle and affectionate and would happily spend her days curled up beside you.
She is crate-trained overnight and often chooses to rest there during the day.
She loves her naps and has settled well with a routine. Fern doesn't suffer from separation anxiety but she does thrive on human companionship.
She is gentle with children and has gotten along beautifully with every dog she’s met and currently lives in a multi-dog household. If her people are out for work, she would do better with a companion.
She’s quiet. and has rarely barked since arriving into foster care.
She is just so grateful for any sort of kindness that is given to her and is going to make a fantastic companion if someone can give her a chance and commit to her treatment.
Medical notes
Fern sadly tested heart worm.
Heartworm is not a death sentence! It's a treatable condition, but it involves a commitment to a lengthy treatment process (usually around 10 months).
We're now on a mission to find a truly special "Foster-to-Adopt" home for Fern. This means you would foster her through the heartworm treatment, bonding with her and getting to know her adorable quirks, all while the rescue covers the full cost of her treatment.
Once she gets the all-clear, you’ll be able to officially adopt her and make her 'forever home' dreams come true.
Adoption details
At Village Tails, we strive to make the adoption process as seamless as possible. We understand that bringing a new pet into your home is a big decision that will enrich your life in countless ways. That’s why we’ve developed a clear, step-by-step guide to help you find your perfect match and provide a loving home for one of our precious animals. Our dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way, from your initial interest to the joyful day you bring your new friend home.
How to Adopt: A Step-By-Step Guide:
1. Browse Our Selection: Visit our Animals page and use the menu to view the various pets we have available. Choose between cats and dogs to narrow your search.
2. Expression of Interest: Found a pet that captures your heart? Reach out to us for an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to initiate the process.
3. Patience is a Virtue: We meticulously review every EOI to ensure each animal goes to the right home. Thank you for your patience during this critical stage.
4. Meet Your Potential Pet: If your EOI is approved, we'll organise a Meet & Greet session. It’s a great opportunity for both you and the animal to see if it’s a perfect match.
5. Adoption Application & Home Review: If you're ready to move forward, you'll need to complete our adoption application and agree to a home review.
6. Review & Approval: Your application and home review will be assessed to guarantee a secure, loving environment for your potential pet.
7. Adoption Fee: Upon approval, you'll be required to pay the non-negotiable adoption fee. This fee directly supports our animal care efforts.
8. Welcome Home: Once the fee is processed, we'll coordinate the special day when you can bring your new pet home.
