Meet Merlin, the Gentle, Curious Little Explorer
Merlin may be a little shy at first, but it doesn’t take long for this sweet boy to come out of his shell, especially if you have treats. He’s a huge fan of Aatas cat treats and has been thoroughly spoilt with them in store, happily accepting snacks as his way of saying, “Okay… I trust you.”
Once he warms up, Merlin’s curious nature shines. He loves to sit nearby and quietly watch what you’re doing, taking in the world with wide, thoughtful eyes. Whether you’re pottering around the house or relaxing on the couch, he wants to be part of the adventure in his gentle, observant way.
Merlin adores his cosy little bed, but don’t be fooled, he’ll absolutely sneak onto your pillow at night if you let him. His sweet presence and soft cuddles make him a wonderful bedtime companion.
He would be very content as an only cat, soaking up attention at his own pace, but with slow and proper introductions, he could also befriend another calm kitty.
If you’re looking for a gentle, treat-motivated companion who blossoms with love and patience, Merlin is ready to charm his way into your home, and your pillow.

Rocky Roads is run completely by volunteers - as such sometimes we do not have the capacity to reply to every single application that comes through.
We understand that this may not be the best experience but we are working hard to ensure the people who give up their valuable time and lives to support the animals in our care are able to look after themselves and their families too.
Without them, there is no Rocky Roads Rescue.

⦿ Adoption enquiry comes through
⦿ One of the RR team will reach out to discuss the adoption process with you - we are volunteers, please allow time for us to reach out to you!
⦿ Meet and greet is organised and completed - you head home! 💚
⦿ Family chats to decide if this adoption is right for you!
⦿ Adoption fee is paid
⦿ Contracts are signed and returned to RR
⦿ Pick up your new family member
⦿ 2 week trial period - during this time you can call and text any questions, concerns, celebrations etc to us!
⦿ At the end of the 2 week trial period we send you desex certificates, vaccination certificates and the microchip will be submitted for transfer into your name
Please note that at Rocky Roads Rescue, we believe every kitten deserves the joy of companionship. To support their well-being and happiness, we generally do not adopt out single kittens. We encourage you to explore the concept of ‘single kitten syndrome’ to understand why having a furry friend is so important. Your new family member will thrive best with a feline buddy or a cat-friendly dog to share playtime and cuddles. However, on occasion, if a cats’s personality shows they prefer to be on their own, we may consider adopting them solo—this will be clearly specified in their adoption profile.
