Meet Maverick

Found hanging around Lake Macquarie Airport, Maverick clearly thought he was ready for take-off… he just needed the right landing strip. This young jet was rescued from the airport grounds and has since completed an impressive glow-up from cautious rookie to confident Top Cat.

Maverick is affectionate, confident, and extremely vocal — he loves being around people and isn’t shy about providing a running commentary on his day. Pats, company, conversations, snacks… Maverick is ready for all of it. He’s far more interested in being part of the action than flying under the radar.

This social boy adores other cats and would thrive with a feline wingman to show him the ropes, nap beside, and chatter with. He’s also suitable for a home with kids, provided they’re respectful — Maverick enjoys family life and being included rather than tucked away.

With the right slow and thoughtful introductions, Maverick could also live with dogs. He’s curious, adaptable, and proving he’s got far more confidence than first expected. Turns out this pilot just needed the right crew.
