Meet Mishka,
Mishka a stunning, fabulous free spirit with a heart as wild and beautiful as her husky heritage! She’s the canine equivalent of a free-thinking woman, strutting through life on her own terms and absolutely rocking it.
She’s best suited to experienced owners, especially those who know and love the husky personality — aloof, independent, a little stubborn, but endlessly captivating, and someone who can offer her the calm, balanced home she thrives in. Mishka doesn’t love being cooped up — she’s happiest when she’s stretching her legs, exploring, and enjoying the freedom to just be herself.
Over her time with us, Mishka has really come into her own, showing off her fun-loving and cheeky side. She’s blossomed into a funny, confident and outgoing dog who is friendly, social, and curious about the world around her, though she’ll also happily do her own thing (in true husky style!). She loves to have a good time
If you’re an active person or family who appreciates a dog with personality, independence, and plenty of character, Mishka might just be your perfect match.
Ideal Home: Mishka is best suited to live in a standalone home or on a farm/acerage, with a medium to large sized yard and high secure fencing.
Family: Mishka is open to meet kids of any age - although there is no age restriction, kids in the home should be dog savvy and understanding of her unique personality.
She is best to live with people who work part-time or someone who is home more often than not. She is able to spend time in the yard on her own, but prefers to be around people, and she would also love to be inside with her new family too.
Furry Friends: Mishka is best to be the only dog in the home. Although she previously lived with another dog, Mishka prefers to be the only dog in the home — she’s on her own path of self-discovery and doesn’t need anyone cramping her style. She's realised that the single life isn't so bad. Although she's not interested in making friends and sharing her home, she is respectful and can be around/walked by other dogs without any issues - she won't interact with them - she'll continue on her journey past them.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Mishka would go living with/meeting cats and pocket pets. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
Training & Development: Mishka would benefit from post-adoption training such as training at home to cover basic commands/obedience. Mishka is mild mannered and rarely, if at all, jumps on you.
Mishka knows her name, and she also knows commands such as sit and shake.
Mishka is food motivated - but prefers high value treats (like devon), so having treats on you during training to mark good behaviour would be an excellent idea as she is very responsive to them. She is gentle when taking treats from you, too.
We always recommend post-adoption training whether it be at home or with a professional. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long & is a great way for you to bond with your new pal.
Play: Mishka has mid-range energy needs & would benefit from exercise, play, or walks from 30-60mins every day to keep her happy and healthy. Due to her breed, exercise and walks should be done either early in the morning or later in the evenings - especially during warmer months. Mishka doesn't really play with toys - she prefers walks, her shell pool or just being by your side - however, we have caught her on the odd occasion playing with toys - though this is rare.
Mishka walks ok on lead but she can pull. She is best to be walked on a martingale.
Staff Comments: Mishka has truly come into her own during her time with us. She’s confident, cheeky, and knows exactly what she wants — and we absolutely adore her for it! Watching her personality shine has been such a treat; she’s funny, independent, and has a real spark about her. Mishka is one of those dogs who leaves a lasting impression — bold, bright, and completely unforgettable.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C5 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
