Beast by name, not by nature. This little guy is a breeze to have around. He is sweet, friendly and calm for a pup that’s just turned 1.
He loves chasing after the resident dog and is basically his shadow. He has always lived with another dog and does need the extra company if his humans aren’t home. He’s only just learning how to play with toys and his new favourite game is stealing the resident dog’s toy when he’s not looking but quickly giving it up when he’s found out.
Beast knows a couple of commands and is crate trained. He enjoys burrowing his way under blankets and getting stuck in them on the regular. As the weather has warmed up, he gets hot up on the couch so you’ll often find him cooling off in a sploot on the floor. Since getting what is likely his first professional groom ever, he loves rubbing himself on anything with some texture - it must feel amazing for him to finally be free of matting.
One of his only less desirable habits - he’s a yapper. He barks at visitors initially, he barks at foreign noises, at passersby when he’s window watching and he barks when his humans aren’t around if he’s left outside. So he’s not suited to apartment dwellers, full time workers or those without another dog or two for company.
Beast is a little ray of sunshine and an easy dog to love. Everyone that meets him falls in love - it’s hard to believe he was abandoned in a home at the end of a lease. He seems to have lived a sheltered life so can be a little timid but is easily won over with pats and affection, children over 6 would be best.
Once he’s had his final booster vaccination, it will be important to get him out and about into the world to experience life outside the home for the first time.
*It goes without saying that his coat is high maintenance. He will require regular professional grooms and daily brushing when his coat grows longer. He arrived in a terrible, neglected state and that can never happen again*
