About Roo
Meet Roo, a very affectionate young Bull Arab/Staffy mix who just wants to be loved. At approximately two years old, Roo has already experienced motherhood and had her babies taken away from her and dumped at the pound, so she really craves her own home with her own loving family!
Roo is housetrained, loves the car, absolutely adores her humans and is the most loving dog our rescue has ever met!
Roo has been able to meet other dogs with slow introduction and enjoyed playing with them. They do need to be similar size and energy definitely NO small dogs.
She does have reactivity to dogs she does not know and is lovely to walk if no other dogs around and we have been working hard on her training and routine to work on this with her.
If a foster home it's best no other dogs at this stage, but for a forever home with careful introduction and the right dog she could definitely find a bestie probably a male would be preferred!
Roo is a deeply affectionate dog who thrives on interactions and enrichment activities. She's a fan of Kongs stuffed with dry food and peanut butter and relishes cheese, chicken, and any tantalising morsel you might be eating.
Being intelligent and quick to learn, she's familiar with various commands such as "sit," "drop," "with me," and many more. Her training journey has been enriching, focusing on leash walking, engagement activities, and gradual desensitisation in her foster homes.
Roo loves her daily walks and would thrive in a home that offers a secure fenced yard where she can run around or sleep in the sun. She is improving at being left alone for several hours at a time but may take time to adjust to being alone in a new home!
This playful girl loves belly rubs, often using them as a calming mechanism. Roo has also been known to cuddle up next to her favorite person at night, seeking the comfort of closeness in the early days but finding her groove to sleep nearby over time.
While Roo may not have had the best start in life, her potential is limitless with the right family willing to provide the love, guidance, and structure she craves. For those who appreciate a dog with a lot of love to give, Roo promises to be your local beest friend.
