About Jake
Jake’s journey has been full of love. He was rescued as a tiny kitten and grew up adored by a gentle guardian who cherished his company. When she passed away earlier this year, Jake found himself in a very different world — still safe and cared for, but missing the calm companionship and steady presence he once knew so well. Now, he’s ready to offer his heart again, and hoping to find a quiet home where he can feel that same sense of comfort and belonging.
Jake is a soft, sensitive sweetheart who forms deep, loyal bonds with the people he trusts. Once you’ve earned his confidence, he becomes a wonderfully companionable little shadow — curling up beside you on the sofa, keeping you company while you work or rest, and chatting away in his gentle, expressive voice. He absolutely melts into brushing sessions and loves nothing more than sharing peaceful moments with his favourite person.
At first, Jake prefers to observe life from a safe hiding spot when new people arrive — he’s a cautious boy at heart. But time and kindness work wonders. With a little patience (and maybe a snack or two — food is his true weakness!), he emerges, warms up, and before long you’ll wonder how you ever lived without his sweet meows and soft presence. He’s proven again and again that he adapts beautifully with gentle introductions — house sitters and carers have all become his friends once he realised they came with kindness (and food).
Jake enjoys a simple, cozy routine: a friendly morning chat to remind you it’s breakfast time, a wander outside to enjoy fresh air and sunshine, and long naps in warm, soft spots. He’s playful in the sweetest way — just wait until you see him go after a scrunched-up foil ball!
He would thrive in a peaceful, adult home where someone is around often and life moves at a calm pace. Jake has always been an only cat, but he once had a neighbourhood feline friend and may be able to adapt to another gentle, calm companion. Mostly, he just wants a loving person and a safe place to feel at home again.
Jake has so much love to give — quiet, steady, loyal love — and he’s looking for someone who wants exactly that in return. If you’re ready to welcome a tender-hearted companion who will bring warmth, soft chats, and gentle friendship into your life, Jake is waiting to meet you.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
