About Cindy Bear
Hi, I’m Cindy — a sweet, shy little girl who’s learning that the world isn’t so scary after all. When I first arrived in care, I wasn’t too sure about people or other animals, but with time and kindness, I’ve started to show my true personality — gentle, curious, and quietly affectionate.
I’m cautious when meeting other cats at first, preferring to watch and see how they act before joining in. If they’re calm, I’ll give a few curious chirps and follow them around. If they hiss, I’ll run away — but never to fight, just to keep the peace. I’ve made friends with my foster buddy Winton, even though he’s twice my size! He can be a bit much, but I mostly just roll my eyes (in a very ladylike way) and keep playing.
I’ve only met dogs from a distance so far. I usually hop up somewhere high to observe them safely. I think, with time and patience, I could live with a gentle, cat-smart dog.
I’d also be perfectly fine as an only pet. I’ll be frightened in a new home at first — that’s just who I am — but with gentle, patient care, I’ll settle in beautifully. I’d do best in a quiet household without young children, as I startle easily and don’t like being rushed.
Once I feel safe, I’m incredibly affectionate. I love pats, chin rubs, and will even let you rub my belly — no tricks involved! I adore batting balls and springs around, and my favourite toy is the circle track where I can chase the ball round and round. I’m great with my litter tray (always have been), and I know the sound of the treat bag — I’ll come running every time!
I still get anxious sometimes, so having a tall cat tower or shelf where I can meet you at eye level really helps me feel brave. I might not be your best friend right away, but if you give me time, I’ll give you my trust — and all my love. 🖤
