Meet Mike — the Gentle Soul Looking for His Second Chance

Mike is a stunning 1.5–2-year-old tan Bull Arab mix with the tall, elegant build of a greyhound. Long-legged, soft-natured, and beautifully gentle, he’s one of those dogs who quietly steals your heart the moment he decides you’re safe.

Mike hasn’t had the easiest start to life. He lived mostly in a backyard and didn’t get the chance to explore the world, so new people and new environments can feel a little overwhelming for him at first. He tends to warm up more quickly to women, but with patience and kindness he absolutely can (and will) learn to trust men again too. Despite being a big boy, he’s truly a scaredy cat at heart — a “runner not a fighter” who chooses to remove himself rather than react. There isn’t a mean bone in his body.

Once Mike trusts you, his personality blossoms into the most loyal, calm, affectionate companion you could hope for. He becomes a total lounge-lizard indoors — very much greyhound-like in nature — clean, polite, quiet, not destructive, and fully toilet trained. He loves routine, a gentle morning walk, and snoozing nearby while you work or relax. He’s an excellent work-from-home buddy and simply enjoys being near his person.

Mike is wonderful with other animals and previously lived happily with both a male and female Staffy. He’s not an escape artist and does beautifully indoors, but he still needs a patient home that will give him time to settle, feel safe, and learn that humans can be kind. His lead walking is improving every day, and with continued reassurance he’ll only become more confident.

This boy is incredibly deserving of a second chance. A meet-and-greet at the pound will melt your heart — his sweetness shines through once he feels just a little bit secure.
