Jatz is looking for a quiet retirement home in Coffs Harbour or surrounding regions. He has spinal cord compression and due to his age he isn’t a candidate for surgery. He is on pain relief but he’s never showed any pain with his current foster carer. He runs around on the beach and tries to jump into the car. We are looking for a local home so we can continue to cover any ongoing medical costs he has during his lifetime at Moonee beach vet.
Jatz loves a pat and a cuddle, he has a very sweet nature. He is good with other dogs and would love company, he likes rounding up other kelpies at the beach. He likes going in the car and is very well behaved. He likes the beach - more for sniffing snd socialising but will go for a paddle if you coax him in.
He mainly sleeps outside but doesn’t mind the occasional night inside. He hasn’t had any toileting accidents inside so far, and he will use the crate or his bed inside.
He does get very excited about food and we are working on his patience/control to sit and wait - it’s ongoing. He will sit on command and recall is good unless he is distracted/focused on something else.
He is not a barker, but is alert to what is around his yard. He walks well on the lead. Haven’t had him around young kids or cats. He is pretty chilled and lovable.
