About River
*In foster care in Carlingford, Sydney*
River may have been the runt of her litter and half the size of her brothers, but that hasn't slowed her down! True to her name, she's a force of nature - an independent adventurer who spends her days finding her own secret paths, planning surprise pounces and keeping a watchful eye on everything around her :)
Small but mighty, curious, clever and always ready to play, River packs a lot of purrsonality into a pint-sized package. Being little has taught her to be brave, resourceful and a tiny bit cheeky - and yes, she can take down her bigger siblings in a good ambush attack! In her mind she's a fearless jungle cat, which means couches, chairs, tables and even bookcases are all fair climbing targets. Not that she sticks her landings every time, but she doesn't care. She relishes the challenge and just keeps trying!
And she's more than just an entertainer - she's also an outgoing and friendly girl who gets along with everyone she meets, children and her foster carers' Labrador included. To meet River is to love her just as much as she loves you!
Like all Maggie's pets, River is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: I’m looking for a home that has space to climb, hide and explore, with humans and other pets who enjoy playtime as much as I do! Another cat to bond with would be especially fun - as long as they can handle my sneaky ambushes ;) Most of all, I just want a family who'll adore me, and celebrate the mighty little lion I am.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: My motto - life is exciting, every corner is an adventure, and every nap is just a recharge for my next mission!
Right now I’m proudly in my Velociraptor Stage - playing until I fall asleep, then waking up to do it all again! I’m a tiny acrobat, courageous explorer, and professional toy-hunter in training, and I'm always aiming for the highest perch in the room. (One day I'll conquer gravity! *shakes paw*)
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I love people, including kids! I haven’t spent time with very young children (under 5) yet, but I’m a confident lass who doesn’t really hide from anything, so I'm likely to respond well to gentle handling from respectful humans of any size.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: 'Brave' is my middle name! I nose-booped the resident Labrador the very first time I met him - no fear here :) The older resident cat keeps pretending she wants to eat me, but I still try to win her over with friendship (and the occasional playful pounce).
I’m a little less sure about the visiting Foxy-type dog, but I hold my ground and sometimes even ambush him just to remind everyone that cat = queen, dog = friend ;)

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
