About Bear (67030)
Bear is a 4-year-old, 32kg German Shepherd with a soft heart and a big love for his ball. This beautiful boy came to GAWS through no fault of his own - his previous family made the difficult decision to surrender him when they could no longer provide the care he needed. Bear is an anxious dog who finds busy, loud environments overwhelming. While he grew up around children and would be okay with visiting kids, he's looking for a calm, quiet home without young children. Teenagers aged 13+ who understand boundaries would be fine, as long as Bear has his own space to retreat and decompress when needed. This handsome shepherd is toilet trained and has excellent recall - especially if a game of fetch is on the table! He enjoys co-existing with other dogs out and about in the community, but at home, he'd prefer to be your one and only. He previously lived with a cat and may do well in a cat-friendly home, provided introductions are slow, controlled, and positive. Due to his anxiety, Bear is prone to some hair loss around his eyes and can experience tummy upsets, so a consistent, balanced diet with probiotics will help him feel his best. Bear is a loyal, sensitive boy with so much love to give - he just needs the right environment to feel safe and supported. If you can offer a peaceful home, gentle guidance, and plenty of time for ball games, Bear might just be your perfect match. Is this beautiful boy your new best bud?
