Araluen is not your average little kelpie, whilst playful and energetic she’s also very content to snuggle up with you on the couch. She loves human company as much as exploring the backyard and chasing birds.

She is able to hold sit and down stays and was clearly engaged in any training exercise. She does have some separation anxiety when left alone, especially when in her crate, but we’ve built up to her comfortably sleeping in her crate next to the bed throughout the night. When she is comfortable with her surroundings, Araluen is very adventurous and confident, not showing any fear when exploring, just curiosity!

Araluen would do best with a quieter home, where there is someone home often, loves being outside, committed to ongoing compassionate training and be able to understand and respect when something is just a bit too scary. She likely wouldn’t have any issues being the only dog but would definitely enjoy the company of another dog, especially one with a similar personality and energy level to her.
