About Toby
Meet Toby a 4 year old cavoodle who weighs 12.5 kg. Life has been a bit tough for Toby with his human dying suddenly and then being hit by car where he sustained a broken leg. He has had surgery, is now recovered and is looking for his forever home. Toby's favourite place other than being by your side is sitting in the yard lapping up the sun or just contemplating life. His new home must have a yard for him to continue doing this.
Toby is an affection machine who believes laps were invented for him. He loves snuggling up on the couch for movie night and will happily be your shadow around the house. His ideal home is one with more than one human so he can share his love around.
He is playful and energetic and don't let his love of lounging fool you! Toby still has a playful side and would love a moderate daily walk (about 30-45 minutes) and a good game of fetch in a secure yard or local park. He loves having the ball thrown for him and if you don't he'll do it himself. He has the perfect blend of playful energy and calm couch time.
Being four years old, Toby is already fully house-trained and knows some basic commands like "sit,". He's eager to please and would enjoy learning new tricks to keep his smart Poodle brain engaged!
Toby still has quite a bit of boisterous energy at times and so is better in a home with older children and ones who understand dog boundaries. He is a gentle soul but is excitable and could inadvertently injure younger children when playing.
He currently lives happily with his foster brother doggo and enjoys playing with him, however he would be just as happy as an only dog in the family as long as he has humans to play with. The more ball throwers the better
Like most Cavoodles, Toby bonds closely with his people and does best when he's not left alone for long periods. His ideal family would be home more often than not. He is fine alone for periods but not all day and is not suitable for full time workers. He is currently on medication to help with this which would need to be continued until he had truly settled in his new home.
Toby is good on the leash but can sometimes get overly excited when meeting new friends and will pull. He loves every dog he meets but can be a little too enthusiastic and overwhelming when greeting them. He needs to learn some manners and would benefit from some formal training to help with this and allow him to become a well mannered boy. We are looking for a family who will commit to formal training with him
His beautiful, soft, low-shedding coat needs a commitment to brushing to prevent mats, and a professional groomer visit every 8 weeks or so.
Is Toby the boy for you?
