About Charlee
Charlee is a female Domestic Short Hair cat available for adoption in Melton (Melbourne, Victoria).
Charlee is a confident, thoughtful cat who forms deep bonds with the people she trusts. Independent yet affectionate, she enjoys sharing space with her guardian while still having the freedom to approach affection on her own terms.
She thrives in calm environments where her boundaries are respected and where relationships are built through patience and understanding.
A little about Charlee:
🐾 Independent yet deeply loyal once trust is built
🐾 Enjoys calm companionship and quiet routines
🐾 Affectionate in gentle, respectful ways
🐾 Best suited to an adult household
🐾 Happiest as the only pet
Charlee values choice and control in her interactions. When she feels safe and respected, she shows affection through quiet companionship—rubbing against you, settling nearby, and sharing relaxed moments together.
She doesn’t seek constant attention, but she truly enjoys being close to her person.
Food is another joy in her life, particularly chicken and tuna, and she loves spending time in sunny outdoor spots where she can relax and watch the world go by.
Evenings are often her favourite time of day, when she happily shares calm moments indoors and settles down to sleep faithfully at the foot of the bed.
Charlee’s ideal home is one where life moves at a gentle pace.
She would flourish with someone who appreciates strong, independent cats and enjoys building trust gradually. A guardian who understands feline body language and respects her need to approach affection in her own time will discover just how loyal and loving she can be.
She does best when she isn’t picked up or handled until she feels ready, and she values having the space to choose when and how she interacts.
Although Charlee previously lived alongside a gentle dog, it has become clear that she now feels most relaxed when she doesn’t need to share her environment with other animals. She is therefore seeking a pet-free home where she can feel secure and fully settled.
To support her during her transition into a new home, her settling period will include appropriate medication designed to reduce stress and help her adjust comfortably. This support plan is simply there to help her feel safe while she builds trust and confidence in her new environment.
Life with Charlee often feels wonderfully peaceful.
Mornings might begin with quiet companionship as she moves through the house alongside you.
Sunny afternoons may find her stretched out in a warm outdoor spot or resting nearby while the day unfolds.
Evenings often end with her curled close to her guardian, finishing the day with the calm comfort of shared space.
For the right guardian, Charlee offers something deeply special: a thoughtful, loyal companion who forms a meaningful bond and shares life’s quiet moments with warmth and trust.

Medical notes
When Charlee was a kitten, she experienced an injury to one shoulder before coming to her current home. As a result, that shoulder grew slightly shorter, giving her a small, lifelong limp. She has been assessed by both a vet and a specialist, who confirmed that she isn’t in any pain and lives a happy, comfortable life.
The specialist report is on file and can be forwarded to your nominated veterinary clinic.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
