About Zeke - 11 Month Old Border Collie
Zeke is an 11 month old desexed brown and white Border Collie with a lovely, gentle temperament and a real zest for life. He's a bright, affectionate boy who loves nothing more than playing fetch. He'll happily chase the ball and bring it straight back to you everytime. He can be a bit ball obsessed, but also enjoys playing tug of war and romping around with other dogs.
Zeke currently lives with a 4 year old Border Collie and gets along beautifully with dogs he knows and enjoys their company, though he can be timid or reactive when first meeting new dogs. With a gentle introduction and a little time, he warms up quickly and becomes playful and relaxed.
He's toilet trained and sleeps happily in his crate overnight. Zeke has been to puppy school and knows his basic commands, sit, down, stay/wait and is very food motivated, especially if cheese or carrots are involved. He;s clever and eager to please, so he'll thrive with ongoing training and mental stimulation. He loves enrichment games like treat puzzles, sniffing out hidden cheese, or simply playing fetch in the yard.
Zeke enjoys human company and loves cuddles once he feels comfortable. He's used to being around children (the youngest being 10) and likely suitable for an active family or couple, though he may be a little too boisterous for very young kids until he matures a bit more.
Like most Border Collies, he needs plenty of daily exercise and mental activity, so he'd be happiest with someone who works from home or has another dog for company.
He does bark a little, usually when he's excited during play or reacting to noises over the fence but he settles well and isn't a chronic barker. He's also been known to dig himself a cool den under the trampoline to relax on warm days.
Zeke is an absolute delight, smart, affectionate, playful and full of potential. He'll make a wonderful lifelong companion for someone who can give him the love, exercise and stimulation he deserves.
Zeke is in foster care in Cardiff, NSW. His adoption fee is $700, and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas, ticks and worms, and microchipped.
