Be warned — once you meet DiCaprio, you’ll fall in love instantly. He’s a lovely man with a big heart, striking looks, and a personality that’s impossible to ignore. A handsome name for a truly handsome boy!

He’s a sensitive soul who requires a very patient, understanding, and experienced home. DiCaprio forms deep emotional attachments and struggles with separation anxiety, so he must have someone home most of the time. He’s not a dog who can simply be left alone — he thrives on constant company, reassurance, and routine.

He’s incredibly social and loves being part of everything, often weaving himself between people’s legs just to be involved. However, because of his anxiety, he depends heavily on having a calm, confident resident dog as a companion — being an only dog wouldn’t suit him at all.

DiCaprio enjoys the beach, lakes, and car rides, but new places and changes in routine can be stressful for him. He’ll need slow introductions, consistency, and continued positive reinforcement to help him feel safe and settled.

He knows his basic commands and walks beautifully on a Halti, and he finds great comfort in his crate — his safe haven when the world feels overwhelming.

DiCaprio also has ongoing medical needs. He’s currently receiving arthritis injections for arthritic disease, and it’s essential this treatment continues to keep him comfortable, mobile, and pain-free. His adopter must be committed to maintaining this care and ensuring he lives the happy, healthy life he deserves.

He came into care with his bestie Brosnan, and while they share a strong bond, DiCaprio could adjust to life without him only if his new home provides the same level of stability, companionship, and emotional support.

DiCaprio is a beautiful, loyal, and affectionate boy who gives his whole heart once he trusts you — but he needs time, understanding, and a home that can offer near-constant presence and patience.

If you’re looking for an easygoing or low-maintenance dog, DiCaprio is not the one for you. But for the right person — someone compassionate, home often, and willing to devote themselves completely — he will be the most rewarding, loving companion imaginable. ❤️
