About Bluey - 3 Year Old Greyhound
"Hi, I’m Bluey! I’m not sure how I got my name, there is no blue in me. I’m more like delicious shades of chocolate with hazel eyes to gaze at you with.
I was once a racer, but that is not my passion. My passions include soft toys to cuddle, humans to love on me, a gentle walk to stretch my legs, long warm showers and trying all the comfortable beds available to me."
Stunning Bluey is 3 years old and has recently retired from racing. He’s been learning all about pet life and home comforts in foster care. Although his racing days are behind him, Bluey still has a playful spark, he loves bouncing excitedly at mealtimes and sprinting to the back door the moment he hears the latch! He adores his walks and takes great joy in exploring the world. In his heart he really wants to curl up somewhere soft and comfy indoors.
Bluey loves human company and is best as an only dog. As you can imagine toilet training is a new concept for him, but with encouragement, he is quickly picking up the need to complete his business outside. He lives inside with free access to outdoors in a safe yard. Bluey sleeps in his crate during the night and will let you know when he needs to wake up in the morning.
Bluey would love a home where he will be part of the family, watching TV, climbing on laps and snuggling in for the night. He is not suitable to a home with cats, pocket pets birds or small dogs. Bluey is making wonderful progress in foster care adapting to family life, under the guidance of his foster parents.
We feel enrolling Bluey in the Greenhounds program, which helps retired racers develop the skills and confidence to thrive as family pets would be incredibly beneficial.
Bluey is looking for a loving and patient family who will help him blossom into the affectionate, loyal companion he’s destined to be. Kids over 5 would be best.
Bluey is in foster care in Chisholm, NSW. His adoption fee is $400, and he is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, treated for fleas, ticks and intestinal worms, and lifetime registered. Bluey is available for adoption to NSW, ACT & Victoria (no flights).
