About Poe
Meet Poe!
She is a beautiful, soft-hearted girl who has come such a long way from her shy beginnings. She and her twin sister were originally rescued together as strays, but while her sister adjusted quickly to home life, Poe… did not. She was, quite literally, P.issed. O.ff. at everyone (hence the name Po- which has since evolved into Poe, because she’s changed for the better 💅).
After returning to foster care, she’s truly come out of her shell- slowly, quietly, and on her own terms. Once she feels safe, Poe becomes unbelievably affectionate. She’ll greet you with the most enthusiastic headbutts you’ve ever received (often while making air biscuits) and keep her soft purr motor running the whole time. Once she trusts you, she’ll soak up all the warmth and love she can get - jumping up beside you, rubbing against your legs, and gently demanding pats like it’s her love language.
And when she’s not busy being affectionate, Poe’s playful side comes out. She’s clever, curious, and still discovering the joys of indoor cat life- chasing wand toys, climbing her favourite spots, and joining in on the occasional household zoomie session with her foster siblings. Beneath her once-pissed off exterior is a silly, affectionate girl who’s learning that being loved is actually kinda fun.
Poe is looking for a quiet, calm home with no young children, where her new family can give her the time and patience she needs to adjust and show her affectionate side. She will initially need a slow approach and a consistent routine to feel secure and build trust. Once fully settled, she will be an excellent companion for a multi-pet household- she will enjoy the company of other calm, friendly felines. She will even tolerate gentle cat friendly dogs who respect her space.
Poe’s gentle and affectionate nature makes her the perfect match for someone who appreciates quiet company and slow-blooming trust. If you’re looking for a cat whose love feels truly earned- and don’t mind the occasional headbutt to the face. Poe might just be your girl: warm, playful, and endlessly loving.

Adoption details
Our adoption process is as follows:
1. Submit an adoption application via our website at www.rescuecatsofmelbourne.com.au/adopt
2. We will be in touch with you within 48 hours if we wish to progress your application.
3. A meet and greet will then be organised so that you can meet your potential new family member!
4. Upon a successful meet and greet, an adoption day will be set for you to come and collect your new family member and sign all required paperwork
All of our cats come de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated, worm treated and with a clean bill of health.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
