About Bruce
Bruce is a loving, laid-back greyhound with a heart as big as his long, elegant frame. His perfect day is all about soaking up the good life — snoozing in sunny spots, leaning in for cuddles, and savoring his favorite treats like melon, blueberries, and cheese.
Despite his impressive size, Bruce is the epitome of gentleness. He adores people of all ages and will gladly press his whole body against you for affection — he’s a world-class “leaner” and professional snuggler!
Bruce is a master of relaxation. After a short, refreshing 20-minute stroll, he’s content to settle in for a cozy nap (or a few). He’s not much into toys, but when he does get a playful burst, it’s guaranteed to make you smile. True to his affectionate nature, Bruce likes to stay close — wherever you go, he’s right there with you, reminding you that love is best shared side by side.
When it comes to walks, Bruce is a polite and easygoing companion. He enjoys the sights and sounds of nature — especially birds — but he’s quick to refocus and trot happily by your side. He’s calm, collected, and happiest simply being near his favorite people.
Bruce would thrive in a peaceful home where he can be the center of attention. He loves having all the cuddles to himself and would make a wonderful only dog for someone who values calm companionship. Because he gets a bit too enthusiastic around small pets, he’s best suited to a home without cats or tiny dogs.
He’s lived harmoniously with young children before and is as gentle as they come.
He’s perfectly suited for someone who’s home during the day or has a setup that lets him pop outside regularly.
An early riser at heart, Bruce likes to start his mornings around 6 a.m. — the perfect fit for someone who enjoys quiet mornings and a peaceful start to the day with a loyal companion.
A typical day for Bruce begins with a relaxed walk to stretch his legs, followed by breakfast and a long, well-deserved nap. He enjoys joining his humans for short café visits (especially when snacks are on offer!), then curling up at home for more quality rest. When you return home, he’ll greet you with joyful enthusiasm and those irresistible, treat-hopeful eyes.
Bruce is a soulful, affectionate boy who has learned to appreciate life’s calm, loving moments. He’s gentle with kids, adores adults, and brings warmth, humor, and heart to any home.
If you’re searching for a loyal, low-maintenance companion who will fill your days with quiet devotion and soft, loving lean-ins, Bruce is your perfect match.

Adoption details
STEP 1 – ENQUIRE & EOI FORM:
greytgreys.org/adopt/apply
If the greyhound you have applied for is unavailable or unsuitable, we can match you with a suitable greyhound. We may have a hound in foster care who might be well suited to your family.
STEP 2 – LET'S CHAT:
We'll phone you to discuss suitability, clarify any points of your application and chat process and next steps.
STEP 3 – HOUSE CHECK & MEET + GREET:
We'll come to you! The meet + greet is conducted at the same time that a house check is carried out. The meet + greet is the day that your newly adopted greyhound will be able to stay on with you.
Our adoption fee is $375.00 and must be paid before the meet + greet, and prior to starting your 3 week trial. Support from our team is freely available. If you have any issues, we urge you to contact us to try and work through them, as all rescue greyhounds have some period of adjustment.
If after the 3 week trial, you feel that you need to return the greyhound, we will refund your adoption fee (less a $50 administration fee), upon return of the dog and all paperwork and other items that the dog was adopted with.
All of our hounds are adopted out with the following:
> Collar, lead & coat
> Certificate of sterilisation & vaccination
> Flea & worm treated
> Care information for your newly adopted greyhound
> Access to our private Facebook page for foster carers, volunteers and adopters of our hounds. A community with invaluable advice and support!
