About Kit
Meet Kit ✨
10 years | Spayed female | Calm, affectionate senior lady
Kit is a beautiful older girl who is very ready to leave the shelter and enjoy a quiet, comfortable home where the focus can finally be on her.
She came to us after her previous owner could no longer care for her. As a long-haired tabby, Kit needs regular grooming, and unfortunately she arrived very matted and uncomfortable. This made being handled painful while the matts pulled on her skin, and she was understandably grumpy and upset when she first came in.
After a careful, compassionate haircut, Kit was instantly transformed — physically and emotionally. Comfortable again, pain-free again, and finally able to relax, she revealed who she really is: a calm, tolerant, deeply affectionate older girl who just wants to be warm, fed, and adored.
Kit enjoys gentle pats, quiet company, and curling up in a warm bed. She is not a bouncy, playful cat and will not require you to pet-proof your home like a younger cat might. She is happiest lounging, napping, and spending relaxed time with her humans.
Despite currently sporting a partial shave (furry face, tail and feet — naked little chicken body), Kit still carries herself with a lot of elegance — and she has been perfectly happy wearing little jumpers through Ballarat’s colder Spring nights.
Kit would be an excellent match for:
Older adopters
People who work full time
Anyone wanting a quiet, affectionate companion to come home to
She may tolerate another very calm, independent cat, but she does not want an energetic or playful feline friend. Kit would much prefer her humans to herself.
Please note:
Kit must be brushed at least once a week as her coat grows back
As a senior cat, she would benefit from regular teeth brushing as well
She is best suited to a quiet, indoor home
She is not suitable for a loud, busy, or highly active household
Kit has been waiting far too long while younger cats are adopted ahead of her. She is a gentle, lovely girl who deserves a home where her needs are understood and respected. She doesn't enjoy being picked up.
If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate senior cat who will happily share your couch, your lap, and your evenings — Kit is ready to meet you.
