About Scruffy
Little scruffy is very lucky to be alive. He was rescued on christmas eve from the yepoon pound when the floods hit. He moved down to tweed with his owner, but there really wasn't a place for him at her house. He had a paralyisis tick and nearly died from that. He was left outside while the other dog and cats (and people) were inside. He escaped a couple of times and ended up in the tweed pound. Last week we met scruffy when he came to our national desexing week paws van at the murwillumbah showgrounds to be desexed. His owner discussed surrendering scruffy to us but said she could keep him for two weeks. Next day we got a call from a gold coast pound saying that scruffy had been surrendered to them and that he would be euthanased at noon the following day because he has a minor medical condition. (see medical notes) poor little bugger had just been desexed the day before. So a friends of the pound (tweed) member did a mercy dash up to the gold coast and snatched little scruffy from a certain death. We have him in foster care and he is doing well. He likes to be an inside dog. Loves all people, including children and loves other dogs. He is a full on little terrier, would be great with an active family or individual who can give hime the love he deserves. Like most jack russells not good with cats. He sleeps through the night in his little basket, goes outside to the toilet and is a great little fellow. He doesn't appear to be a barker. Scruffy is just so cute. At two years old we thought he was worth saving. Because we are close to the nsw/qld border our animals can go to either state. We do not transport animals interstate
Medical notes
Scruffy has a mild form of epilepsy. He has two tablets a day that cost $4. 50 a week (less than a good cup of coffee in some places) he suffers no side effects and the tablets keep him well and happy. Too easy!!
