Meet Pierre, a distinguished 12-year-old long hair dachshund with a heart as warm as his luxurious coat. With his charming disposition and soulful eyes, Pierre is looking for a loving home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by companions, both human and canine. Despite his age, Pierre has the heart and spirit of a pup, especially now that he's shed a few pounds and regained his joie de vivre. His love for walks and cozy companionship makes him the perfect laid-back yet lively addition to the right family.
Pierre thrives in environments where he isn’t left alone for extended periods. He’ll flourish in a household with someone around frequently or with another dog companion to keep him company. This cheerful dachshund is well-mannered, house-trained, and his sweet nature makes him a delightful and gentle friend for children. His adaptability to secure fenced yards ensures that he can safely explore without straying too far from your side.
Given his serene demeanor, untested interactions with cats, and previous experience with kids and other dogs, Pierre is open to a variety of home setups, as long as he has the love and presence he desires. Residing near the scenic Red Hill, he is accustomed to a relaxed lifestyle and is fully desexed, chipped, vaccinated, and wormed, offering peace of mind to his new family. For an adoption fee of $495, Pierre can bring joy and companionship into your home, adding love and affection bundled in an adorable, long-haired package. Embrace the opportunity to share your life with Pierre—he's ready to join the adventure today!

Here are some quick tips to make your APPLICATION stand out:
Include as many details as you can about your lifestyle, family, accommodation, and work. Here’s some first-hand feedback from our member rescue organisations about what they'd like to see in your applications:
🐱 Why would this animal suit your home? (This lets them know that you've read the pet’s bio and considered their personality vs. your lifestyle)
🐾 Details about your family
🏡 Is your home quiet/relaxed or loud/busy? (Particularly important for timid cats). Ask questions, to show your are interested in the animals ell being.
Add questions into the application.
Fill out the profiles of your current pets if you have any. Understanding the personality of resident cats and dogs will help rescue organisations or foster carers determine if the pet will adjust to your surroundings.
Remember to be respectful and kind in your enquiries. A simple greeting can go a long way! Behind that screen is a real hooman, who loves and cares for the pet you're enquiring about just as much as you will!
Be open and honest - rescues prefer having as much information as they can about potential adopters.
An adoption fee applies to each animal to cover only the basic veterinary procedures, and each adoption goes out on a 21 day settling in period, if the dog is returned in this period, and you’ve spoken to our trainer for assistance, and the dog is returned in good health, mentally and physically, and all their belongings and paperwork are returned, then we provide a refund less $50 admin fee (per dog) . This is not a trial, but in case of any unknown or unforeseen circumstances.
The adoption process is as follows
✅Everyone that lives in the home will meet the dog with the carer
✅We ask everyone go home again and discuss and think about overnight and contact us the next day
✅This also gives the carer a chance to think about suitability
✅Then if everyone agrees we then require a home inspection, or at least photos of the home yard and fences.
✅Then the adoption fee is paid and once that clears our account you are free to arrange with the carer to collect
✅The adoption paperwork comes out in 14 days in which time you are required to register and change chip over
