About Prue (On Trial)
Prue went on trial on 11/7/11. Pls consider our other dogs on www. Dogrescuenewcastle. Com. Au particularly miss millie, barkley and snowie. Prue is a 1yo purebred maltese. She is tiny at only 3kgs but has the biggest personality! she loves to meet new people (especially older children) and will instantly roll onto her back for a tummy rub. She will stay on her back until she gets one! who can resist with those eyes looking up at you!. . Prue gets along fine with other dogs but would prefer to be in a family where she is the main focus. She doesn’t have any problems with cats and is happy to be around them. . . . Prue will need to be a predominantly inside dog given her small size. She does enjoy having a sunbake in our yard but loves nothing more than to be near you. Prue currently sleeps in her bed inside but given the opportunity she would gladly sleep on your bed (if allowed). She is toilet trained and will happily sleep through a full twelve hours. . . . Being a maltese, she doesn't shed, so won't leave dog hair in your house or on your clothes and is better for people with allergies. However, she will need a daily or second daily brush and regular grooming to keep her beautiful white coat in perfect condition. Professional clipping every 2 or 3 months costs around $50 so you should be prepared for that if you decide to get a non-shedding dog, or learn how to do it yourself. . . Prue is very clever. We have taught her to “sit” and she knows the words “into bed. ” i suspect she also knows the word “chicken” as it is her favourite food!! she is not a food orientated dog and is happy to wait for her meals. She is not protective of her food and has lovely manners. . . Prue loves to go for a walk and gets excited when she sees her lead. She also travels well in the car and enjoys looking out the windows. . . Prue isn’t a “yappy” dog and only occasionally barks. She does fret a little when left alone and so would ultimately need a forever home where one or more of the household was home for the majority of the day. The greeting that she gives you when you return is that of a long lost friend! her tail goes crazy and she gets a huge grin on her face! she also loves to give lots of licky “kisses” if allowed! because of prue’s size, a secure yard is a must and a yard inspection will be required. Anywhere that a tennis ball could fit under so could prue!. . The pleasure has been all ours in fostering prue – or “prue-bear” as my children have named her. She is a larger than life soul and the family that adopts her will be blessed with a loyal, best friend for life. . . Dog rescue newcastle www. Dogrescuenewcastle. Com. Au is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation. Our adoption fee covers the dog's de-sexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, micro-chipping, and lifetime registration.
