Sadly, Max found himself homeless after his owner passed away and there was no one to take care of him and 2 other senior dogs who were all living together.
They spent time wandering the local area, neighbours tried to find family to help but there wasn’t anyone to step up.
After finding themselves at the pound we knew we needed to give them their happy ever after, so we didn’t hesitate to book them their freedom ride to the village and into the most wonderful foster homes.
If you are considering welcoming a golden oldie into your home, then Max is your man.
He is an absolute sweetheart and a delight to have around the house. He had learnt to use the doggie door but will stick to you like Velcro if you are home, he is the most loyal boy!
Max is fully house trained, but boys being boys, when he gets to his new home, he will do best to get straight outside to have a good snifferoo and mark his new territory.
He is a super mellow boy and gets along well with just about every dog, and can be seen cuddling with his foster sister Penny, loves every child and adult he has met. gazing at them with hopeful eyes that they may just give him a scratch behind the ears or throw the ball.
Although he absolutely loves playing with his ball and we mean loves!
This is his only resource guarding so is only being allowed to play with them under supervision.
He does have an old injury on his elbow that has healed well and although doesn’t need surgery, he does only require approx. a 20min walk which he loves, making it a breeze as he walks so well on leash.
Max doesn’t require an active home so would suit many homes but an older person so they can enjoy afternoons chilling out would be a dream for this super friendly boy. Max is happy to be left alone and will give you the best vocal greeting to celebrate your arrival home!
A note from his foster mum, “He is going to make someone the best companion dog ever!”
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
