Millie is another of our seniors who found herself homeless after her owner passed away and there was no one to take care of her and 2 other senior dogs who were all living together.
They spent time wandering the local area, neighbours tried to find family to help but there wasn’t anyone to step up.
After finding themselves at the pound we knew we needed to give them their happy ever after, so we didn’t hesitate to book them their freedom ride to the village and into the most wonderful foster homes.
Millie’s likes:
Millie loves water so a shell pool would make her a very happy girl
Loves a morning brush (and this girl is a super low shedder)
Easy to bath
Loves to nap the day away and is a very relaxed girl
This low energy girl only needs a 30-minute walk
Loves children and people in general (the youngest she has met being 2 years old)
Completely house trained and has learnt to use the dog door
Will let you know when she is ready for pats and attention but will also let you know when she has had enough
Walks well a lead
Great in the car
Sleeps happily in the lounge under a fan by herself
Millies dislikes:
Millie does need slow introductions if there is another dog in the house as she can be initially a little unsure and it does take her time to warm up to doggie companions, but her foster carer found that wearing an E-collar for initial introductions has worked well. It did take several days but she adjusted to the resident dog in her foster home and is better suited to walks rather than the dog park.
Please drop us a line of you would like to meet Millie or any further information

Adoption details
At Village Tails, we strive to make the adoption process as seamless as possible. We understand that bringing a new pet into your home is a big decision that will enrich your life in countless ways. That’s why we’ve developed a clear, step-by-step guide to help you find your perfect match and provide a loving home for one of our precious animals. Our dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way, from your initial interest to the joyful day you bring your new friend home.
How to Adopt: A Step-By-Step Guide:
1. Browse Our Selection: Visit our Animals page and use the menu to view the various pets we have available. Choose between cats and dogs to narrow your search.
2. Expression of Interest: Found a pet that captures your heart? Reach out to us for an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to initiate the process.
3. Patience is a Virtue: We meticulously review every EOI to ensure each animal goes to the right home. Thank you for your patience during this critical stage.
4. Meet Your Potential Pet: If your EOI is approved, we'll organise a Meet & Greet session. It’s a great opportunity for both you and the animal to see if it’s a perfect match.
5. Adoption Application & Home Review: If you're ready to move forward, you'll need to complete our adoption application and agree to a home review.
6. Review & Approval: Your application and home review will be assessed to guarantee a secure, loving environment for your potential pet.
7. Adoption Fee: Upon approval, you'll be required to pay the non-negotiable adoption fee. This fee directly supports our animal care efforts.
8. Welcome Home: Once the fee is processed, we'll coordinate the special day when you can bring your new pet home.
