About Barney
Meet Barney a 7.6 kilo gentle soul who's eager to find a loving home that matches his serene demeanour. This sweet dog is a calm and friendly companion, perfect for someone who enjoys a quieter lifestyle. Barney is particularly suited for an older person who appreciates leisurely walks and the companionship of a respectful and steady presence by their side.
Barney's laid-back nature makes him great on the lead, turning an ordinary walk into a peaceful journey. He coexists harmoniously with dogs his size and has shown a gentle disposition even around the shelter cat, reflecting his agreeable personality. True to his calm nature, Barney is wonderfully submissive without any hint of anxiety, creating an atmosphere of warmth and trust wherever he goes.
One of his lovable quirks is his affection for treats, which can be a delightful part of your bonding routine. Barney is observant and will usually come when called, making him a joy both inside the home and in the yard. If you're searching for a calm and loyal companion who will offer unconditional love and soothing company, Barney is ready to fill your days with gentle love and quiet support.
Medical notes
Barney had matting around his ears and neck which was removed.
Dental with extractions: 19 teeth were extracted due to severe periodontal (gum) disease. He now has fewer teeth and may need to eat soft food or small, easy to chew pieces.
Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
