Pleased to meet you! My name is Freya, and I'm a sweet, gentle-natured Jack Russell with a heart full of love.

My friends here at the shelter have described me as a 10/10 dog- gentle, intelligent, and affectionate. I'm not like your regular Jack Russell; I'm cool, calm, and collected, with the easy-going energy and spirit of a much older girl.

When I first arrived, I was a little shy and cautious. I've since been in foster care, and with some kindness and patience, I've really come out of my shell. These days, I'm confident, affectionate, and very well-mannered. Some loud noises still spook me, but I'm trying my best to be brave. I do best in a calm, predictable home where I can feel safe and secure. I also respond beautifully to soft voices and gentle reassurance - it helps me feel brave and loved.

I love gentle chin and ear scratches, but I'm not demanding about affection. I'm just as content curling up nearby while you relax or work. Of course, I do have a cheeky side too - sometimes I can't resist stealing a sock or wrestling with my bed, which always ends in lots of wiggles! I'm even fully toilet trained and can use the doggy door all by myself.

While I ADORE people, I'm a tender soul who likes to do things on my own terms. I don't like being picked up, and prefer my 4 paws on the ground. With new people I tend to be a little nervous, and I'm not overly fond of them giving me all the pets and cuddles just yet. Because of this I'd do best in home with with older primary school children or above, who can understand when I need a little breathing room. And the same goes for my canine companions. I'm not on one for boisterous playtime; if they can respect my space, I'm sure we'll become besties in no time- so please bring along all children and resident dogs along to the meet and greet!
