About Pepper
Pepper is a beautiful senior lady with a big personality wrapped in a soft, gentle soul. She may be a little shy when you first meet her, but once she feels safe, she’ll happily chat away with her sweet meows and chirps, and you’ll quickly discover just how affectionate she can be.
This sweetie loves companionship and will follow you around like a shadow, often stealing your warm spot on the couch or bed the second you get up. She likes chasing toys or batting around a scrunchie with surprising energy for her age - but she’s just as happy curled up in the sunshine or tucked under the doona with you, gently snoring through her afternoon nap.
Pepper is calm and relaxed, the perfect fit for a quiet and loving home. She’ll give you head bops to show her affection, and she’s confident enough to politely (and harmlessly!) let you know if she’d prefer not to be patted in certain spots.
While she’s not particularly food motivated (and has no interest in stealing your dinner), Pepper does enjoy her kibble and the occasional licky stick treat. She’s curious and loves exploring her surroundings, so her new family should be mindful she could try to dash out the door when you aren't looking.
Pepper’s favourite things 🖤
- Stealing your warm spot as soon as you move
- Following you around like your shadow
- Sunbaking or snuggling under the doona with you
- Gentle naps (with soft snores!)
- Human men – she seems especially fond of them!
- Licky sticks and kibble.
Things Pepper would rather avoid 🙅♀️
- New people at first (but she warms quickly once she feels safe)
- The sound of deodorant sprays
- Vacuum cleaners
- Tummy rubs and pats on her back legs.
Prior to arriving in our care, Pepper was surrendered from a home with multiple cats - so we are reasonably confident to say she would get along with other cats in the future. She has not been tested with dogs while in our care.
Pepper is looking for a peaceful forever home where she can enjoy her retirement years in comfort, surrounded by love. If you’re after a sweet, social and talkative companion who will bring warmth and character to your home, Pepper is your girl!

Medical notes
Pepper recently had a scale and polish dental procedure while in our care, so her teeth are nice and sparkly and clean!
We have also discussed with our vets that Pepper has a little bit of dandruff. We have been told that this is likely because of a combination of factors including her age and her previous poor diet. Her new family will need to ensure that they brush her regularly and feed her a high quality senior diet. She is currently eating Royal Canin 7+ years.
Adoption details
All animals adopted through Out of the Woods Rescue are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated and health-checked. We aim to match each animal with a home that suits their needs and personality.
Here’s how our adoption process works:
Submit an application – This helps us get to know you, your household and what you're looking for in a pet.
Phone chat – If your application looks like a potential fit, one of our team members will contact you for a casual phone conversation to answer questions and discuss the animal in more detail.
Meet and greet – You’ll meet the animal in their foster home or another agreed location. If everyone agrees it’s a good match, we can proceed to adoption.
Adoption paperwork and payment – Our adoption fees cover desexing, microchipping, vaccination and parasite treatment.
Once adopted, the animal becomes part of your family. We're still here for post-adoption support if you ever need any help.
We’re committed to ethical adoptions and reserve the right to decline applications if we feel the match isn’t in the best interest of the animal.
