Romp is a classically handsome country boy with a big heart and a gentle soul.
Typical of his breed, he is weary of strangers, but once he trusts you he does so with his whole heart. He seems to have not had much exposure to a suburban lifestyle, but with a little encouragement he can do scary things. He is so eager to please his handler and very trainable. He would love to learn, tricks, a sport, to have his mind occupied with a ‘job’.

Romp walks very well on lead - checking in with his person often and is learning to walk past other dogs without putting a paw out of place.

Although he is more comfortable outside, house training is going well. He has quickly learned the rules of the house, waiting at doorways, that he isn't allowed on the furniture etc. He will sleep in a crate inside if asked, however he chooses to sleep outside on a comfy bed by the backdoor, we don’t hear a peep all night.

During his time in foster care he has thrived with consistency and encouragement.

Romp would love to have a doggo friend. Currently he lives with two larger dogs and loves to play tug and wrestle. He finds comfort in other dogs, especially when faced with new or scary things.

An old injury to his tail, aggravated presumably by his time in the pound, has healed fine. However he will look a little silly till the hair grows back.

Romp has been very sweet to the children he has met, but given his strength dog savvy kids would be best.

If you are looking for a loyal mate who will stick by your side through thick and thin, someone to cuddle and follow you everywhere, this is your guy. Romp will have you smiling every day.
