About Samson
Meet Samson, our handsome old soul.
Samson has seen his fair share of life's ups and downs. Once abandoned and left to fend for himself, Samson arrived at the shelter scared, matted, and unsure of the world around him. With time, patience, and kindness, this resilient boy has slowly learned to trust people again - revealing a gentle spirit beneath his tough exterior.
Samson isn't looking for much, just a peaceful home where he can live out his golden years in comfort. He's set in his ways and knows what he likes: a warm sunny window to snooze in, a comfy bed, and quiet companionship from someone who understands that sometimes love means simply letting an old man be an old man.
Because of his reserved nature, Samson would do best in a calm home with no small children and be with people who give him space and allows him to settle at his own pace. Samson is an "all 4 paws on the floor" kind of cat, he has no interest in being picked up and carried around at this point.
Samson has a history of marking his territory, by spraying, in the presence of another cat and when rushed into a new home. Because of this, we recommend a slow and peaceful introduction to a new space with no other cats and with a litter placed in a small safe space to avoid this in his future home.
If you have a soft spot for the older souls and believe every cat deserves a happy ending, Samson will reward your patience with quiet gratitude and the contentment of knowing you've truly changed a life.
Samson is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Samson - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
