Meet Madame Macadamia,
Madame Macadamia is a soft, sweet soul with the gentlest nature. This lovely girl is calm, affectionate, and quietly charming. She’s suitable for first-time owners and would settle beautifully into almost any household, though she’d really thrive in a calm and peaceful home where she can feel safe and relaxed. She’s fine to meet kids of all ages, as long as they’re kind and understanding of her gentle, sometimes shy personality.
At first, Madame Macadamia may seem a little timid, but give her just a bit of time and she’ll reward you with her warm, loving side. She’s not one for being picked up — she prefers to keep all four paws firmly on the ground — but she absolutely loves pats, especially around her ears and under her chin. Once she’s comfortable, she’ll nudge your hand for more affection and even roll around in front of you, showing off just how happy and relaxed she feels.
Madame Macadamia has a lovely, laid-back rhythm to her days. She enjoys her quiet time curled up on her bed but can be tempted into play with a feather wand or ping pong ball when the mood strikes. She’s not fussy with food and is as easy to please at mealtime as she is in life.
Gentle, affectionate, and full of quiet charm, Madame Macadamia is the kind of cat who’ll quietly make her way into your heart — a graceful little lady who brings warmth and comfort wherever she goes.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Madame Macadamia would go living with dogs. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
As for cats, Madame Macadamia seems interested in making friends and she previously lived with other cats. We encourage anyone with existing cats to do a gradual and supervised introduction over a few days to ensure that both cats have the best chance of becoming friends.
We always encourage cats to be indoor cats. Madam Macadamia has already experienced living on the streets and she enjoys being inside where she feels safe. If she is outside, it will increase her chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As an inside cat she can live her best life possible.
Staff Comments: Madame Macadamia is affectionate in her own way. She will give you head bunts and lay for pats but will do her own things when she's had enough - she'll toddle back to her bed. She likes enclosed cat beds where she can feel extra safe. She prefers pats/affection over play. She can be a little shy to start with, but is agreeable and able to be moved to where you want her to be. A quiet household is preferred for this lovely, little lady.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
