Meet Sergeant Sesame,
Say hello to Sergeant Sesame — a sweet, gentle boy with a soft heart and a curious spirit! He’s suitable for first-time owners and would settle nicely into just about any household, though a calm and quiet home would suit him best. Sergeant Sesame is fine to meet kids of all ages, as long as they understand his gentle nature and take things at his pace.
This lovely boy enjoys being picked up, carried, and cuddled — and he especially loves a good scratch behind the ears or under the chin while he’s in your arms. He adores affection and will happily seek you out for more, pressing his head into your hand for pats and wanting to stay close by your side.
Sergeant Sesame has a nice balance of calm and playfulness. He’s quite content to relax and do his own thing, but when the mood strikes, he’s ready to play! He has a soft spot for string and small ball toys, and while he might act a little shy when first introduced to feather toys, it’s only a matter of time before his curiosity gets the better of him and he’s pouncing with enthusiasm.
He’s easy-going with food, friendly with people, and steadily growing in confidence each day. Sergeant Sesame is affectionate, social, and sometimes even a little chatty — a wonderful mix of sweetness, charm, and playful curiosity that’s impossible not to love.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Sergeant Sesame would go living with dogs. This would be up to the discretion of his new owners.
As for cats, Sergeant Sesame seems interested in making friends and he previously lived with cats too. We encourage anyone with existing cats to do a gradual and supervised introduction over a few days to ensure that both cats have the best chance of becoming friends.
We always encourage cats to be indoor cats. Sergeant Sesame has already experienced living on the streets and he enjoys being inside where he feels safe. If he is outside, it will increase his chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As an inside cat he can live his best life possible.
Staff Comments: Sergeant Sesame loves attention and cuddles. He melts into your arms and makes biscuits. He can be a little playful with balls or strings but also likes wand toys. When he wants additional attention he can be a little vocal, but is not demanding.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
