Meet Lentil,
Lentil is a soft-hearted sweetheart with a gentle and affectionate nature. She’s perfectly suited to first-time cat owners and would thrive in a calm, quiet home where she can continue to build her confidence at her own pace. Lentil is open to meeting kids aged 10 and up, as older children will be more understanding of her shy moments and gentle personality.
When Lentil first arrived, she was quite scared and unsure of the world, but she’s made amazing progress since then! While she’s still not too sure about being picked up and prefers to keep all four paws firmly on the ground, she absolutely adores pats. She’ll nudge you for attention, lean into head rubs, and melt for gentle ear and chin scratches — just avoid the belly, please!
Lentil isn’t overly playful and doesn’t have much interest in toys; she’d rather roll around, show off her adorable stretches, and flirt her way into your heart. She’s an easy-going grazer who’s happy to nibble on her food throughout the day and isn’t at all fussy with what’s on offer. Sweet, sensitive and steadily growing in confidence, Lentil is a loving, curious, and affectionate girl ready to bring warmth and calm into her new home.
Lentil is not suitable to live with dogs or other cats right now. Maybe with more confidence this may change. She has already grown in confidence - so if you do have existing cats in the home please speak to staff.
We always encourage cats to be indoor cats. Lentil has already experienced living on the streets and she enjoys being inside where she feels safe. If she is outside, it will increase her chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As an inside cat she can live her best life possible. Her timidity is a driving factor.
Staff Comments: Lentil is such a sweet little cat who absolutely loves people and pats all over. She just needs some confidence building and a patient, loving owner. She responds to kissy noises and 'pspsps' - when you do this she will come out to greet you.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C5 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
The adoption fee for cats covers F3 vaccination, health check, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
