Say hello to Rusty, a fun-loving, affectionate boy with a big heart and an even bigger desire to please! This handsome lad adores his people and thrives on connection - he's responsive, attentive, and loves learning from his handler. With his eagerness to please and quick responses to verbal cues, Rusty is a joy to work with and a great candidate for ongoing positive reinforcement training. 🐕

He is currently receiving treatment for Heartworm so it's really important to restrict any activity or exercise for the time being. Daily mental enrichment where he can snuffle, shred and use his brain will be essential to keep him happy while he's receiving treatment. ❤️‍🩹

Rusty enjoys playing with other dogs, though he's still learning the art of gentle introductions and softer play. For now, he'd shine best as the only dog in the home, soaking up all the attention for himself. Once he has completed his Heartworm treatment, he'd benefit greatly from pack walks or social outings with calm, well-mannered dog friends to help him continue practicing his social skills. 🐾
