About Molly-Wobbles
Molly-Wobbles was found by a member of the public on the side of a busy highway as a newborn. We don't often like to speculate, but the likelihood is very high that she would have fallen off a truck, likely on the way to an abattoir. Molly appears to be a Saanan cross Boer, which also fits with this scenario.
For the first 4 weeks of life, Molly lived in a residential backyard. Although the people offered her milk, they didn't see Molly drink any. Somehow, Molly stayed alive until her screams began annoying neighbours, and then we were contacted and took her on the next day. Sadly, Molly was extremely malnourished, she had a heavy lice and worm burden, and other than a round wormy belly, she was skin and bones. Very anaemic, but with a lot of energy considering, Molly immediately took to the bottle here, and was completely weaned at 15 weeks. She is now at the perfect body score, is free from parasites, and the stress line from her malnourishment shown in her hooves is growing out. She is a survivor!
Unfortunately, Molly does appear to have suffered from head trauma, likely from the fall onto the highway. She has had seizures. These don't last long, and it is hoped she will grow out of them. However, there is a chance that this is just the state she's always going to be in. We have not had any seizures for some time now, so this is positive!
Molly-Wobbles is a gentle, sweet and loving girl. She loves her pats, is wonderful on lead, and makes friends with other animals easily. She slept in the house at night as a baby, and has now progressed to the barn, spending the day in the paddock with other goats, cattle and sheep. She has such a special personality, full of loving life and learning! She was quick to understand that the milking stand was for treats, and will happily allow restraint for the purpose of picking up her hooves for trimming. A great foundation for when she is older, larger and when her cooperation will be necessary.
Molly is very happy here, and maybe this will be her forever home. However, if you have something special to offer Molly, with shelter, protection, friends and most importantly, love, then I'd be happy to hear from you. Molly makes an amazing pet.
