About Pumba
Hi, I'm Pumba
I'm a 5-and-a-half-year-old professional cuddler, toy enthusiast, and all-around good boy looking for my forever family. And yes, I was named after that Pumba - you know, the lovable warthog from The Lion King. We have a lot in common: big hearts, quirky charm, and a talent for turning heads wherever we go. Just like my namesake, I believe in hakuna matata - no worries - even when life throws you a few curveballs.
You see, I'm a special needs dog. I have a few medical conditions that make me a bit different, but definitely not less. I may need a little extra care, but I promise - I'm worth every bit of it. I've still got plenty of life in me and even more love to give. Whether I'm waddling after a toy, curling up at your feet, or just soaking in the sunshine, I know how to enjoy the little things.
In my foster home, I lived with another dog, some kids, and even met the house cat. My foster carer called me a "thick little slice of perfection," and said I was the first foster dog her fiancé ever considered adopting. I'm great with kids - gentle, patient, and content to just sit and listen to their stories (sometimes I even offer a little kiss if they're cool with it). Loud noises and scooters? No worries. Basketballs bouncing? Totally fine. I'm cool, calm, and curious.
Toys are my weakness - I LOVE them. I might even crocodile roll to keep my favorite one, but I never growl or snap. Just passionate about my playtime, you know? I'd probably chase a cat if it ran (hey, instinct), so maybe a cat-free home is best. But I've met one up close and was respectful while saying hello.
Despite some wobbles with my back leg early on (which cleared up once I settled in), I'm still playful and energetic. I can't sit quite like other dogs - my butt prefers to hover - but I get around just fine. I take some meds to help keep me comfy, and honestly? I'm thriving.
Inside, I'm super chill. I'll snooze on my bed, follow "stay" and "on your bed" like a pro, and just be near the people I love. I might jump up when I'm really excited, but I promise I'm not pushy - I just get happy sometimes.
I'm not just a dog. I'm a friend. A confidant. A foot-warmer. A toy-chaser. A tail-wagger. And if you're looking for a companion who'll love you unconditionally - warts, medical needs, and all - I'm your guy.
So, what do you say? Wanna be my Timon?
Love,
Pumba
