🌸 Meet Junie 🌸

Sweet, gentle and absolutely beautiful inside and out — Junie is one of those rare kelpies with a calm, loving nature who simply wants to be close to her people. She’s soft-hearted, affectionate, and happiest when she’s curled up beside someone she trusts.

Junie has a quiet, easy-going personality. She isn’t jumpy or destructive, rarely barks, and takes everything in with those thoughtful eyes. Loud noises and sudden movements can make her a bit nervous, so she’ll need a patient home with a gentle hand to help her continue building confidence.

She’s also perfectly toilet trained and goes to bed and sleeps quietly through the night until morning — not a peep! Her foster carer currently carries her to bed as she doesn’t quite follow bedtime instructions yet. With a little patience and gentle guidance, she’ll pick it up in no time. Because she’s still a little timid, her foster hasn’t pushed her too hard, preferring to let her move at her own pace.

While she enjoys her walks and the occasional run, Junie is quite low-energy for a kelpie — she’s just as content lounging in the sun or napping at your feet as she is exploring the world with you. Because of this, she’s unlikely to suit a working-dog lifestyle, but with love, patience, and positive training she’ll make a loyal and obedient companion.

Junie loves food and treats, which makes her a dream to train! She gets along well with both small and large dogs after a slow, proper introduction, though she prefers gentle play and sometimes likes to herd the others rather than wrestle. She’s also calm with cats, and would likely thrive in a home with dog-friendly cats or smaller dogs who share her quiet nature.

Junie’s ideal home will be one where she’s included in family life — a household that will let her join in the daily routines, adventures, and couch snuggles. She’s not suited to an apartment or courtyard-only home, and would love a secure yard to relax and play in.
